Introduction
a unique opportunity.

In July 2021, the US Supreme Court unanimously ruled that;

“The National Collegiate Athletic Association cannot restrict education-related compensation benefits for student-athletes”.

This ruling allowing 494,000 NCAA athletes to maximise their Name Image and Likeness (NIL) was described by some as “one of the most significant sports law decisions in US history”.

To maximise the commercial opportunities of these new athlete freedoms, we formed ClubRealz, an interactive athlete-to-fan engagement platform that is more than just lightweight stories and media. ClubRealz fan engagement follows the athlete throughout their career with no advertising or third-party interests to manage because the interaction is direct and owned by the athlete.  

The ClubRealz platform uniquely connects thousands of receptive athletes with millions of highly engaged sports fans via the sale of Realz (digital entitlements), from which purchasing fans can enjoy unique benefits and engage actively with their chosen athlete(s).

 
 
 
 
 

The market
breathtaking scale.

 

College sports fans represent the largest fan base in the US with over 182 million followers worldwide.

US colleges compete with professional championships for prime-time broadcasting, sponsorship, print coverage and onboarding of the most elite athletes with the NCAA television broadcast revenue is in excess of $827 million.

Retail figures for sales show NCAA income at $2.35 billion, compared to NFL at $1.3 billion and NBA at $750 million. Michigan State University football team have not played in front of fewer than 100,000 fans since 1975. Eight of the top ten stadiums worldwide in terms of capacity are situated on college campuses.

As an example of this markets magnitude, the University of Texas generated athletic department revenues of $224 million in 2018/19.

NCAA television broadcast revenues in excess of $827 m

Expansion
key funding.

Commercial development to date has enabled the live launch of both the ClubRealz App & Website platforms, the onboarding of targetted Athletes and critically, proof of concept.
Our company's transition from the start-up to the next stage of development requires Equity funding of circa £000k.
Key to expansion is a further development of internal sales and marketing support, key Executive management, customer and client management support and the appointment of a specialist US-based creative agency.

 

Content

Core to the application of additional funding will be the expansion of our in-house creative department which works alongside specialist agency providers to design innovative, meaningful athlete content via easily managed standardised templates that allow athletes a friction-free and efficient method of content delivery.

Athletes

Our App led platform automates athlete registration and identity verification.
To maximise athlete participation increased emphasis will be placed on athlete support with carefully selected account managers’ nurturing athlete participation, including the monitoring of any inappropriate behaviour.

Tech

Ongoing creative App and Website development is imperative towards our successful ongoing journey. Increased funding will be designated to allow more management support towards the adaptation of both front and back-end elements of the ClubRealz App & Web based platforms.

Branding

In line with the expansion of ClubRealz's core business, an enhanced Brand message will be developed. Designed to drive influence and connection over the diverse profiles of both Athletes and their fans, execution will require the support of an experienced US-based sports-centric Branding/Marketing agency.

The Team
experience + innovation.


Our founding management team have applied total commitment to the ClubRealz project providing Bootstrap Funding to date. As a consequence, the business is currently unencumbered by debt and carries no additional third-party investment.
Driven by the founding partner David Platt, our existing management structure has the breadth of commercial, sporting and tech-based experience needed to drive the business towards its next stage of development.

 

David Platt

Founder & CEO

David has over 38 years experience of top level sports.  Regarded as an ultra professional, his reach into global sports - especially soccer - is exponential. 
He has played soccer in both England & Italy, winning major honours at Juventus, Sampdoria and Arsenal.  Representing England National soccer team 62 times, 19 as captain, scoring 27 goals, David gained a unique understanding of sports star mentality. By also managing and coaching in Italy, England and India, winning the Premier League as assistant Manager to Roberto Mancini at Manchester City, David developed a deep insight into the business of elite professional sport.

Martin Williams

COO

Martin has over 25 years experience of building large, complex systems in multiple industries. These include Banking and Finance (Barclays, Fidelity Investments, Royal Bank of Scotland, Standard Chartered, Russell Investments, Telecommunications (British Telecom, Ericsson, Vodafone), Pharmaceuticals (AstraZeneca), Government (DEFRA) and Defence (BAE Sema).  
He built a company based on software, taking it from concept to trade sale within two years.  The software and services he developed are used by some of the largest IT companies in the world.

Steve O’Donnell

Director

Steve has over four decades of senior global high technology experience in both hyper-scale businesses and small early stage startups. 
He is currently CIO at the Peoples Pension (B&CE), a financial services firm focused on retirement savings.  He has served in C-suite roles at Coventry Building Society, Arthur J Gallagher, Global Hive, G4S, MEEZA, Enterprise Strategy Group, British Telecom, and the advisory boards of Fusion-io and Violin Memory Inc. and GreenBytes.  Steve was a founding judge at Tech Trailblazers, a global awards program, focused on enterprise technology startups.
